# SIP trunks

The username and password your SIP client signs in with.

A trunk is a set of SIP credentials. Your PBX, dialer or voice platform uses them to send calls through Vonyx.

## Create a trunk

1. Go to **SIP Trunks → Create trunk**.
2. Fill in the fields below and save.
3. Attach a number to the trunk.

<TypeTable
  type={{
    'Trunk name': { type: 'text', description: 'Any name you will recognise.', required: true },
    'SIP username': { type: '3–35 characters', description: 'Lowercase letters, numbers or _. Unique across Vonyx.', required: true },
    'SIP password': { type: '12–80 characters', description: 'No spaces.', required: true },
  }}
/>

## Connect your client

Every trunk uses the same address:

| Setting | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Server | `43.204.9.41` |
| Port | `5060` |
| Transport | UDP or TCP |
| Authentication | Trunk username and password |

Full details: [SIP connection](/docs/sip).

## Turn a trunk on or off

The **Trunk enabled** switch stops or allows every call on the trunk. Use it to pause traffic without deleting the trunk.
